Zerodha co-founder has joined in the debate over future education and employment. Kamath emphasised that ‘the days of four-year college courses are over.’ His remarks come in response to the Future of Jobs Report 2025 by World Economic Forum . The report highlights changes in the global labour market driven by AI. The report also suggests that moving forward we will witnesses a shift in skill demands.

In a post shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) Kamath talks about the Jos that will be relevant in next 10 years. “Such an interesting question: "What jobs will be relevant in 10 years?" Personally, I think the days of 4-year college courses are over, lifelong learning is the new norm, for everyone…,” wrote Zerodha co-founder along with an infographic based on the WEF report.

Kamath stresses on the fact that moving ahead traditional education degrees will not be sufficient in a world where skills like big data, AI, creative thinking and cybersecurity are growing at a fast pace. The report also mentiones that by 2030 39% of the core job skills may become obsolete and India is expected to face highest rate of skill obsolescence.

The Job Report 2025 from WEF predicts that around 92 million jobs may be displaced by 2030. The report also adds that around 170 million roles will emerge related to fields like technology, agriculture and gig work.
