Raipur: A coordinated effort by the Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC), district administration, and Raipur Development Authority (RDA) led to the demolition of unauthorised constructions spread across approximately 26 acres of prime govt land in Kaushalya Mata Vihar.
During the drive, around 40 illegal pucca and kutcha houses, including several farmhouses, in Sector 11-A of the Kaushalya Mata Vihar Yojana were razed. Authorities also discovered a CCTV camera installed in one of the permanent structures.
Furthermore, it was reported that the encroachers kept animals and hired security personnel on the illegally occupied land.
The anti-encroachment operation was conducted under the guidance of collector Gaurav Singh, the directives of RDA Chief Executive Officer Akash Chhikara, and with the cooperation of RMC commissioner Vishwadeep.
Approximately 150 officials and employees from all RMC zone offices, the police administration, and the RDA utilised JCB backhoe loader machines to carry out the demolitions.
The encroachments were primarily located on the City Park and an 18-metre wide road in Sector 11-A of the Kaushalya Mata Vihar Yojana. The RDA administration reportedly issued multiple prior notices to the illegal occupants, with a final request to vacate the land made last week. However, the continued encroachment necessitated the joint action.
As per the RDA, the encroachment was situated on a part of Khasra No. 252 in Dunda village. While some permanent houses were built, others were temporary structures, and some new permanent constructions were also underway. Earlier, the RDA also removed illegal encroachments near a pond in Sector 3 of the same scheme.
