Mysuru: International Director of Lions Club, Pankaj Mehta, lauded the Lions Club as a global organisation that continues to inspire selfless social service through its vast membership and community outreach.
He was speaking at the inauguration of Saptha Sampada, the 16th Annual District Conference of The International Association of Lions Clubs, held at the convocation hall of Karnataka State Open University in Mysuru. Addressing the gathering, Mehta emphasised the club's long-standing commitment to community service in Mysuru and other parts of the country. "In the coming days, efforts will be intensified to increase membership and further strengthen the Lions organisation," he said.
He said, "Alongside our professional responsibilities, organisations like Lions play a crucial role in fostering social and humanitarian engagement. As a result, service activities are thriving across India and around the globe."
He urged the public to join the movement and participate more actively. "Maintaining an organisation for so many decades is not an easy task—it demands dedication, determination, and a deep service mindset from every member. The Lions Club has set an example for others to follow," Mehta added. He further noted that the club, founded on the principles of service and volunteerism, continues to expand its global footprint, benefiting millions of people. "It is our hope that the organisation grows even stronger and reaches many more in need," he said.
Lion N. Krishnegowda emphasised that Lions Clubs International operates in virtually every part of the world, serving communities selflessly and earning widespread trust. "Encouraging people to join such organisations not only boosts public service efforts but also ensures long-term, sustainable development at the grassroots level," he said.
