Payday is here and for shoppers looking for a new phone, now is the time to act. That's because Sky has cut the price of its most popular phone contract - the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

The device is Apple's flagship phone and for a limited time, Sky is selling the device for a cheaper monthly cost. For £35 a month, shoppers can pick up the iPhone 16 Pro Max on a 36-month contract.

The iPhone 16 Pro Max comes with a 6.9-inch screen, the powerful A18 Pro chip and much more battery life than its predecessors including Apple Intelligence to help Apple fans be more productive.

Over the 36-month contract, shoppers will pay £1260-that doesn't include the phone's data plan, so Apple aficionados should consider that before buying.

For shoppers who want some alternatives to go for, there's also Carphone Warehouse, which has a range of other deals to explore. For Apple fans, Giffgaff also has a reasonable monthly price on its iPhone 16 Pro with a £24 a month plan with a slightly more expensive £25 upfront cost if users want to shop around.

Our tech experts reviewed the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max when it first released - and they were hugely impressed by the upgrades.

Tech editor Dave Snelling said: "The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max get some nice updates including those bigger displays, improved battery life and faster charging.

"The A18 Pro chip sets a new standard and the rear camera is better than ever. There's also the addition of that Camera Control button on the side and you get some new colours to choose from including the striking Desert Titanium. Apple Intelligence will also arrive before Christmas making these devices even smarter."

He did note however, that those with a iPhone 15 Pro or similar might want to hold off upgrading. He added: "These are great iPhones but if you have an iPhone 15 Pro in your pocket there's probably not enough here to warrant an upgrade especially as those 2023 devices will also get Apple Intelligence via a software update.

"That said, if you haven't upgraded in a while and want the best iPhone of the bunch then the 16 Pro and Pro Max are top-notch call makers that will be contenders for phone of the year."
