With summer holidays just around the corner, the beach remains a top spot to enjoy warm weather, fresh sea breezes and a refreshing ice cream - but rising costs can put a dampener on the fun. Now an online platform for booking international trains, coaches, flights, and ferries, Omio, has revealed its annual ranking of Europe's most affordable beaches for 2025. And this year's list highlights destinations that offer the best combination of value and enjoyment.
Topping the chart is Playa de las Teresitas in Tenerife, while Gorleston-on-Sea - a seaside town in the borough of Great Yarmouth in Norfolk, England - has been named the UK's most affordable beach. The study considers various important factors, including visitor reviews, average summer temperatures, and the current prices of popular beach essentials, including sunbed rentals, ice cream scoops, local beers, and new for 2025, iced coffee and hotel stays.

Gorleston-on-Sea beach ranked 50th best 'budget' beach across Europe. With hotel stays around £104 per night and moderately priced beach treats like ice cream (£2.50) and beer (£5.00), it offers a great balance of cost and charm.
Located on England's east coast, Gorleston-on-Sea Beach features a model yacht pond and a children's splashpad, making it an ideal destination for all.
Visitors can also enjoy the scenic cliff gardens and a charming promenade. The beach offers great conditions for surfing and bodyboarding.
Its appeal hasn't gone unnoticed and Tripadvisor has also recognised Gorleston Beach as one of the best beaches in the Europe.
The seafront was included in a list of Europe's top beaches in the 2025 Travellers' Choice Awards. It was one of only two beaches in the UK to make the list.
Joanne, from Bradford, wrote on TripAdvisor: "I never get bored of this place. I love this place! Old fashioned charm and miles of sandy beach, plenty of space for my 3 football mad boys to play. Close to all the amenities and lots of parking."
Someone else said: "A wonderful beach front with lots of things to do and a lovely promenade. Plenty of cafes, restaurants and amusements. We walked all the way down to the harbour and watched the ships coming in and out. That was really exciting."
Meanwhile, West Sands Beach, in Scotland, stands out as the most expensive UK beach, with beer prices soaring up to £6.40.
