Ryanair offers flights to some truly amazing places across Europe. There are many cities in Italy, Spain and France that can often be visited for as little as £20 on the right date. But the airline is also famous for having flights to some of the continent's lesser-known destinations.
This gives travellers a great opportunity to explore more of Europe on a budget. And one such city has just been added to Ryanair's list. The low-cost airline has launched a new winter route between Edinburgh and a city in southeastern Poland. Flights will operate twice a week on Mondays and Fridays, with one-way fares starting from just £24.99.
The journey takes under three hours and can be a great choice for a long weekend away.
And those who make the trip will find themselves in a city full of history, underground cellars, riverside cafes, and cheap beer.
The place in question is Rzeszow. The city has a lovely Market Square and is home to a number of attractions including a town hall, castle, and musical fountain.
But one of the more unusual things to do there is head underground.
Running beneath the city centre is a restored route made up of 25 connected cellars dating back to the 14th to 18th centuries.
The 396-metre-long circuit took 17 years to complete and is now open to the public for guided tours. These take place daily, with around three running each day.
Visitors will also find the city affordable, with a pint of beer costing around £3 and coffee just over £2.
A meal for two at a mid-range restaurant is typically priced at £31, not including drinks.
On average, eating out is more than 20% cheaper there than in Warsaw, which is already a favourite among budget-conscious Brits.
What's more, during winter, the city transforms into a festive paradise with a Christmas market serving mulled wine, hot cider, grilled sausages and other local treats.
And for those planning a summer break instead, there are outdoor pools, a riverside lagoon, and plenty of al fresco dining spots.
All in all, Rzeszow may not be as well-known as Kraków or Gdask, but it's shaping up to be an exciting and, most importantly, cheap alternative.
Flights are available now on Ryanair's website, and are expected to run through the summer season too.
