Prince William and Princess Kate are said to be hoping that Forest Lodge will be their "forever home". The eight-bedroom home, which is a Grade II listed building, is said to be worth £16 million and dates back 328 years.
The couple and their three children - Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and seven-year-old Prince Louis - have lived at Adelaide Cottage since 2022. Prior to their move to Windsor, the family lived in their palatial apartment in Kensington Palace. Forest Lodge, which was once known as Holly Grove, is 10 minutes closer to Lambrook School, where all three of the Wales children currently attend.

It has also been reported that Kate, 43, and William, also 43, will foot the bill entirely for the renovations they plan to make to their new home. This means that their move will not come at any cost to the taxpayer.
Speaking of their move, a Kensington Palace source told the Mirror: "William and Kate love the cottage, but it's just too small for them. There are four bedrooms, which just about fit them all in, but there are other things that need to be considered. Staff and other elements need to be factored in.
"It is also meant to be a working residence and there isn't room to facilitate an office or hold more than a few guests at a time."
Due to their move, it is believed that the family hopes to have found their "forever home" and has no plans to move elsewhere when William becomes King, including Buckingham Palace.

Writing for the i Paper, journalist and royal correspondent Jennie Bond said that she believes William wants to gives his children a stable childhood home - something that he "missed" when he was younger.
She wrote: "After a childhood spent shuffling between the homes of his quarrelling parents, William is determined to give his family the stability he missed."
Following their parents' divorce, William and his younger brother, Prince Harry, 40, split their time between Kensington Palace, Highgrove House, Sandringham, and Balmoral.
