King Charles set to refuse Prince Andrew's latest Royal Lodge request

King Charles is reportedly set to refuse Prince Andrew's request for separate royal homes for himself and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, a royal expert has said. It is believed Andrew, 65, is currently in negotiations with the King regarding where he can live following his upcoming rumoured eviction from his 30-bed Royal Lodge home, where he has lived with his ex-wife.

The reported pending eviction comes after the prince has continued to be entangled in scandals surrounding his previous association with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. While Andrew has denied all allegations against him, he has seemingly started to succumb to public pressure by first relinquishing the use of his titles, and by reportedly preparing to leave his 30-bed mansion. While many may have assumed Andrew and Sarah would move together, it has been reported that the prince has instead requested two Crown Estate homes - one for each of them.

It is believed Andrew has his eyes on Frogmore Cottage, while Sarah wants to move to Adelaide Cottage - a home that Prince William and Princess Kate are set to vacate soon.

Although Andrew may be hopeful about this demand, a royal expert believes that the King, 76, will refuse it.

Talking about the reported two-home demand, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told GB News: "One doesn't know who he (Prince Andrew) takes advice from, but the point is, it's just simply not going to happen. The King is not, I'm sure, going to allow that."

He continued: "Two homes and they're more or less living round the corner from each other. It's a matter of convenience for them, but it's most certainly not something that the public, the parliament, the Royal Family will go along with.

"Their activities, the historic state visit to the Vatican where the King prayed with Pope Leo and President Zelensky's ceremonial welcome, all of this is starting to be overshadowed."

It is believed Andrew could also receive some compensation if he packed up and leave Royal Lodge as he has a lease on the property until 2078.

Although he only pays peppercorn rent, Andrew did make an initial payment of £1million for the residency of the 30-bed mansion, as well as contributing £7.5million towards renovations.
