A two-part legal drama with stars from Call the Midwife and Shetland has landed on Netflix and TV fans have branded it "brilliant" and "intriguing", concluding that it is a "superb" watch.
The Jury was first released in 2002 on ITV, with a second season following in 2011. The show stars the likes of Julie Walters and Helen McCrory, and was the first ever TV show to be filmed inside the historic Old Bailey courthouse in London.
Each season follows a group of jurors as they decide the outcome of a controversial murder trial. The first instalment consists of six episodes, while the second is made up of five episodes, but the two series are completely unconnected.
The synopsis for the first series of The Jury reads: "The killing of a 15-year-old-boy rocks the nation, as a Sikh classmate of the boy is charged with the murder.
"The trial, which is engulfed in protests and media speculation, brings together 12 jurors who find themselves having to make a decision that the entire country is waiting for."
Meanwhile, the second series focuses on the retrial of Alan Lane, who was convicted five years earlier of the murder of three women, who he had met via online dating sites.
The first season stars late Peaky Blinders favourite Helen, alongside the likes of Gerard Butler, Nina Sosanya, Nicholas Farrell and Derek Jacobi. Tim Healy, Mark Strong and Jack Shephard also make appearances.
Julie, famed for starring in Mamma Mia!, leads the cast of the second season, which also stars Roger Allam, Anne Reid and Jo Hartley, along with Sarah Alexander, John Lynch and Lisa Dillon.
The ITV drama has received rave reviews TV fans, with one saying: "The Jury ITV... Brilliant, kept me glued all week! Julie Waters was fantastic. Well done to all the crew and cast!"
