During the India vs West Indies Test match in Delhi, an unexpected incident in the stands caught more attention than the on-field action. On the fourth day of the match at Arun Jaitley Stadium, a young couple sitting in the audience suddenly became the talk of social media after a video of them went viral.
In the viral clip, the girl is seen slapping the boy sitting next to her—not once, but twice—before grabbing him by the neck. At first glance, it looked like a heated argument had broken out between the two. However, moments later, both were seen laughing, suggesting it may have been a playful exchange rather than an actual fight.
What happened after the slap?
The video was reportedly filmed when the West Indies score stood at 293 for 4. The crowd’s attention briefly shifted from the field to the couple as the girl’s reaction drew gasps and laughter. Soon after, the game resumed—and interestingly, the next few overs brought a dramatic turn in the match.
Kuldeep Yadav’s bowling storm follows the incident
Not long after the viral moment, Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav unleashed a brilliant spell. He broke the West Indies’ momentum by dismissing wicketkeeper Tevin Imlach at 293. Within minutes, he sent Roston Chase and Khary Pierre back to the pavilion, triggering a collapse. The West Indies went from 293/4 to 311/9 in quick time.
However, their last-wicket pair showed remarkable resilience, putting together a 79-run stand and taking the total to 390. Their partnership denied India an early finish on Day 4. As the Test heads into the final day, Team India needs 58 more runs to secure victory.
