If you frequently travel on national highways, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has a new offer that could save you both time and money. Starting this Independence Day (August 15, 2025), the government is launching a FASTag Annual Pass designed for regular highway commuters.
What's the FASTag Annual Pass?· Cost: ₹3,000
· Validity: 1 year or up to 200 toll-free trips, whichever comes first
· Applicable at: Toll plazas on National Highways (NH) and National Expressways (NE) only
This initiative, managed by NHAI, eliminates the need for frequent FASTag recharges, offering a more affordable and hassle-free option for everyday travelers.
Who Can Use It?· Ideal for those who travel highways around 200 times a year
· Only for private vehicles like cars, jeeps, and vans
· Not applicable to commercial vehicles (trucks, taxis, tempos, etc.)
How to Buy the Pass· Must have a valid and functional FASTag linked to a private, non-commercial vehicle
· Purchase online via:
o Rajmarg Yatra App
o NHAI website: www.nhai.gov.in
· Pay ₹3,000 through your FASTag wallet or linked bank account
· After payment and verification, the pass will be activated and linked to your FASTag from August 15, 2025
Where Is It Valid?· Only on National Highways and Expressways under NHAI
· On other routes (like state highways, local parking, or city tolls), standard FASTag charges apply
· Pass functions as a regular FASTag on non-NHAI toll plazas
Commercial Vehicles Excluded· This annual pass cannot be used for commercial vehicles
· Trucks, taxis, and other commercial transports will continue to pay tolls as per current rates
