A college has shared the heartbreaking news that two students from the same year have died on the same day in separate incidents.
The tragedies happened on Monday July 7 and Horndean Technology College, Hants, where they were pupils, said both incidents happened off the school site. While the two pupils have not been idenified they have been described as "valued members of HTC".
A statement posted on the school's official Facebook page provided more details surrounding the tragic news. The college says it is considering how best to remember and celebrate both students’ lives.

The postread: "We are sad to share with you that two of our Year 9 students passed away on Monday 7 July, in unrelated incidents outside of College. We are saddened by this news and know that the community naturally will be too. Both students were valued members of HTC, and we will all miss them greatly.
"Our thoughts are with their families and friends, and they are receiving appropriate support. We have shared the news with our students. We understand that families will want to support their children through this extremely difficult time and below we have provided some links to useful resources to help in conversations.
"The Revd Richard Hutchins, Vicar of the United Benefice of Catherington and Clanfield from the local parish church will put tealights out for people to light and arrange a prayer tree for people to add their prayers. The church will remain open for the next few days for people to seek a quiet place should they wish to do so.
"For all those living on the eastern side of Horndean, Holy Trinity (Blendworth) is also available for quiet reflection and tea lights will be available for the next few days. "In due course, we will be considering how best to remember and celebrate both students’ lives in College, and we will update you on this at an appropriate time. HTC will be happy to receive flowers and gestures of condolence at the main Reception this week."
The nature of how the two students died has not been disclosed at this time.
The Mirror has contacted Hampshire Police for comment.
