Tottenham pundit names five players crucial in their Europa League final triumph

Five players - including four defenders - were rated 10/10 by our pundit following Spurs' victory over in the .

Mr Gold praised 's defending in the tie as they kept a rare clean sheet. Conceding 61 goals in the this season, Spur's defence has been the subject of criticism. However, stoic performances by Porro, van de Ven and Udogie helped keep United at bay. A goal late in the first half was the difference and so Tottenham will play football next season.

" Cristian Romero - A battling leader at the back. He took the knocks and constantly frustrated United. Was given the man of the match award.

" Micky van de Ven - Defended well throughout and then came up with a brilliant acrobatic goal line clearance to stop Hojland's header looping into the net. What a night for the young defender."

" Destiny Udogie - Struggled with Diallo's pace in the first half but grew into the game enormously and became an attacking force in the second period. Made a great challenge in the Spurs box before racing up the pitch with Solanke who couldn't control his pass on the run in a two vs one situation. Came off late after taking a couple of knocks on barnstorming runs.

" Yves Bissouma - Postecoglou told him he would need him at the end of the season and he certainly did. The midfielder was superb."

Spurs ended their 17-year wait for a trophy and 41-year wait for a European triumph. It comes after a disappointing domestic season as, with one game to go, the north London club lie 17th in the Premier League.
