Conor McGregor has opened up about why he has not walked down the aisle with his long-term love Dee Devlin, despite a 16-year romance. The couple, who got engaged in 2020, are proud parents to four children and have been inseparable since their teenage years, meeting in a nightclub.
Devlin has been a constant presence in McGregor's life, supporting him through thick and thin, even when he was unemployed and striving to make it as an MMA fighter.
Although McGregor has teased the idea of marriage over the years, Devlin is still awaiting that special moment. In a candid chat with RTE in 2017, the UFC superstar was quizzed about tying the knot with Devlin, to which he responded: "We just dropped a bloody bomb on a christening for the young boy. Let me chill for a minute, give me time. I'm still only 29."
Last year, four years post-engagement, McGregor revealed his plans to marry Devlin soon. Speaking to the Irish Mirror, he expressed his readiness to marry his long-time partner: "My lady is my long-time lady," he said. "We are set to get married soon, we are just trying to find a location. I am ready to go; we are just trying to get a location," reports All Out Fighting.

"Is it at home? I'd like for it to be at home. We are deciding on a location. Hopefully, we get the marriage done, and that is what I'm looking forward to. These are the decisions we have. I go between do we want an extreme and extravagant. It will be extravagant and I will spare no cost for sure for my lady and my family but is it invite everyone or is it private, these are the things we are trying to figure out.
"We are private people but we wouldn't like to do it and think we should have done it a bit bigger. So we are in decision mode at moment, but let's see, things are good. But that's my lady all the way, the highs or lows before all of this."
Reminiscing about his partner Devlin, he told MMA Fighting in 2015: "I love to spoil her. She does not work anymore, I hired her to the business. She works for me now and collects the cheques. Dee worked very hard throughout the years and stuck by me when I had essentially absolutely nothing. I only had a dream that I was telling her. For me to be able to take her out of work, give her everything she's ever wanted and to travel the world with her fills me with pride. It keeps me going. We've been together a long time. She's been through it all with me."
The 37-year-old was recently caught in a storm after he was seen kissing an unidentified woman in Florida, sparking rumours as he was not with his fiancée. The Sun reported that the 'Notorious' appeared to enjoy the attention from female admirers on the beach. Devlin responded by posting a message on Instagram which read: "Happy Birthday to the person who always keeps Dee entertained and makes her smile." She also shared a collection of photos featuring herself and McGregor.
When is Conor McGregor's next fight?McGregor's last fight was in 2021 against Dustin Poirier, where he faced defeat in their trilogy showdown. He was set to come back to fight Michael Chandler last year but had to withdraw due to an injury sustained during training.
Recently, McGregor has been active on social media, sharing videos of his training sessions, fuelling speculation about his return to fighting. In a surprising turn of events, former US president Donald Trump announced intentions to host a UFC event at the White House.
After Trump's remarks, Conor McGregor hinted at a comeback. At a press conference for a Bare Knuckle FC event, which McGregor co-owns, the Irish fighter made an exciting announcement. He declared: "It's looking like I'm headed to the Oval Office again. That's where I'm headed next." The crowd responded with enthusiastic applause to his statement.
