Channel 4 has shared a statement after Gogglebox couple Roisin Kelly and Joe Kyle revealed that they had been "dumped" from the show's cast. The Scottish pair took to social media last night to tell fans that they were not returning for the show's next series, adding: "After three and a half years of sitting on the sofa channel 4 have decided it's time for Joe and I to stretch our legs and have not asked us back for season 26. Therefore, we are leaving the Gogglebox family."
A spokesperson for Channel 4 has now said that they wish the couple all the best. "We thank Joe and Roisin for their contributions to Gogglebox over the years, and wish them all the best for the future."

Roisin and Joe released a statement on social media, sharing how they "couldn't be more grateful" to Studio Lambert for welcoming them onto the show back in 2022. "The experience has actually been so mad and we will miss watching tv with you all on Friday nights! It's been an honour to represent Scotland as some of the first Scottish people on the show and prove we don't actually need subtitles," they added.

The couple went onto thank the show's crew, sharing: "We have made friends for life and after filming every week for years you have become like our family! We could not have asked for better people to work with and we will miss you immensely."
After thanking their fans, they added: "It for sure has been a once in a lifetime opportunity. Time to watch tv in silence for a bit and put down the popcorn. Miss you already, Roisin and Joe x x x."
In their social media post, the couple shared a few memes - including one from Toy Story where Channel 4 is villain Sid and the couple are Woody being dropped to the floor. "I don't want to play with you anymore," Sid is seen saying.
Another picture showed a child crying with the caption: "Being dumped from gogglebox." However, the next image was of Captain America's Anthony Mackie celebrating with the words: "No longer having to adhere to a contract and can work with brands and companies."
Earlier this week, The Mirror revealed that ex Gogglebox star Daniel Lustig-Webb would be returning to TV for the first time since his devastating divorce from co-star Stephen on First Dates.
