Actually, after heavy rains in the neighboring state of Jharkhand for the last few days, the water level in the Falgu river suddenly increased, due to which parts of some small dams have been damaged, in such a situation, there is a danger of flood in Nalanda district. Due to the rising water level of the Falgu river, water has entered many areas.
According to a statement issued by the Disaster Management Department (DMD) of the Bihar government, 'On June 19, due to a sudden rise in the water level of the Falgu river, the authorities released 73,000 cusecs of water from the Uderasthan barrage (in Jehanabad). Due to the release of water from the barrage, parts of some small dams were severely damaged, causing flood-like conditions in many areas of Hilsa, Karaiparsurai and Ekangarsarai in Nalanda district.'
Tents were set up for the affected peopleThe concerned officials are providing relief material including food packets and drinking water to the affected people. Temporary tents have been set up for the affected people. All kinds of facilities are being arranged for them so that people do not face any kind of problem. Due to the fear of flood, people are forced to leave their homes and live in tents, due to which they are facing a lot of problems.
Two NDRF teams deployed
Meanwhile, in view of the flood situation, the Disaster Management Department has started relief and rescue operations. Two teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been deployed in the area which are monitoring the situation. Due to the rising water level of Falgu river, flood water has spread in three blocks of Nalanda district. Beldari Bigha of Ekangarsaraya is the most affected.
