Lucknow: In a horrific development, the mother of the BCA student who was murdered in Lucknow's Vigyanpuri area has told police that her daughter was allegedly raped by her stepfather before the fatal attack.
The mother stated in her Wednesday testimony that the stepfather had been pressuring the daughter for a second sexual assault for two to three days. A friend from the victim's hostel corroborated that the student had been withdrawn for 15 days and was reluctant to go home for the holidays, only returning at her mother's insistence.
The victim was stabbed 18 times in the neck, stomach, and private parts. Her stepfather allegedly danced on her body after the murder. The family performed the last rites on Tuesday, and the mother has since left the home where the murder occurred, unwilling to return. While the police have not yet registered a rape case, they are interrogating the stepfather.
The mother revealed that the stepfather attacked her daughter when she returned home from the hostel some days prior, terrifying the girl into silence. This incident reportedly made the daughter hesitant to come home, only doing so for a few days during a holiday after repeated requests. The murder occurred just before the daughter was due to return to her hostel on June 30, when the stepfather allegedly tried to assault her again. When she resisted, he became violent and attacked her.
