Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): The land pooling scheme in Ujjain for Simhastha-2028 is oppressive and against the interests of farmers. Under the scheme, agricultural land is being acquired for business. About 2,380 hectares of land are being acquired for the fair area.
Simhastha Mahaparv is held once in 12 years, but this scheme of the Ujjain Development Authority will end the income of farmers forever.
About 5,000 farmers will be affected, and about 35,000 to 40,000 of their dependent family members will lose their livelihood.
Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav Announces 50 New E-Buses, Cycles To Flag Hoisting CeremonyIn a statement, the ‘Simhastha Kisan Sangharsh Samiti’ said that the 40 feet, 60 feet, 80 feet, and 1,100 feet roads planned to be built in the Simhastha area are very dangerous and harmful for the farmers. If this scheme comes, then there will be great damage to the environment due to the cutting of thousands of trees.
We have seen an example of this during Covid-19, when thousands of people lost their lives due to lack of oxygen. The land pooling scheme is bound to compel the food producers to the point of dying of hunger. If this scheme comes into force, the crops of the farmers will become unsafe due to the construction of the road.

Grazing land will be lost. Animals will be forced to roam on the roads and in the city. The construction of the road here will be of no use for 11 years and 10 months. This scheme is a waste of Rs 23,000 crore.
The place where the saints used to set up their camps will become the place of saints after this scheme, due to which there will be more chances of disputes among saints. If all the vehicles will remain outside the satellite town, then what is the need for such a big road in the Simhastha area?
