Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) on Sunday finalised its strategy to take on the state government in the upcoming monsoon session of the assembly, with a sharp focus on the crumbling condition of roads, lathicharge on Karni Sena members in Harda and alleged engineering failures like the 90-degree bridge design.
Addressing party MLAs at the CLP meeting in Bhopal, Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar said Congress intends to hold BJP government accountable on key issues that directly affect people.

The party will also question quality and safety of bridges, some of which have drawn public outrage for their faulty design.
The lathicharge on members of Karni Sena earlier this month will be raised prominently, particularly by Congress legislators from the Rajput community, who are preparing to confront the government over the alleged caste-based targeting during police action in Harda.
Singhar made it clear that the party has no plans to bring a censure motion against Speaker, despite a recent circular banning sloganeering and agitation within Vidhan Sabha premises. “This is a short session, and our focus is on raising real issues of public concern,” he told Free Press.
Several other matters also figured in the meeting, including expulsion of tribal communities from their land, alleged irregularities in recruitment exams, demand for a timely and transparent caste census, increasing corruption, the rise in drug trade and alleged involvement of BJP leaders, shortage of fertilisers for farmers, rising crimes against women, delay in recruitment for vacant posts and push to restore full 27% OBC reservation by lifting the freeze on 13%.
