Team India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has been slammed for dancing while fielding near the boundary on day five of the opening Test against England at the Headingley in Leeds. A video of the same surfaced on social media and it has not gone well with the netizens due to his fielding lapses in the match, thereby contributing to India's defeat.
'Mera Hee Ball, Mera Hee Umpire...': Rishabh Pant In Awe Of Ravindra Jadeja On Day 5 Of ENG vs IND 1st Test; VideoJaiswal's fielding efforts have come massively under the scanner after England gunned down 371 to take a 1-0 lead in the five-Test series. The left-handed batter had dropped a catch off Ollie Pope on day two and he went on to make a first-innings ton. The youngster also fluffed a catch off Harry Brook's bat on day three and the Yorkshireman went on to make 99, thereby whittling down India's lead to only six runs.

However, his most significant drop was on day five when Ben Duckett was on 97 as the opener holed out to square leg but Jaiswal failed to hold onto the chance running in. Duckett went on to make a match-winning 149 as the hosts chased down a daunting 371 with five wickets to spare.

5-0 coming up?
No fight seen after stokes got out ..atleast 70 runs were needed
Disappointed π
Not only Jaiswal entire teams body language showed they are not bothered to compete. It was so disappointing to see the 5th day. Look at Pant, Shardul, Prasidh, Jaiswal, Karun, Siraj. Horrible fielders all of them. They need to show efforts to compete at least.

"Dropped catches, lower not contributing cost us" - Shubman Gill
At the post-game presentation, captain Shubman Gill opined that Team India had their chances but failed to snaffle it. The 25-year-old admitted that such chances don't come often and the tourists must hold on to them moving forward. He elaborated:
"A brilliant Test, we had our chances. Drop catches, lower not contributing cost us. Yesterday, we were thinking of giving them 430, but our last wickets fell for 25. Even today, I thought we had our chances after the brilliant first wicket. Didn't go to hand. We spoke about the first-inns collapse, happens, we have to rectify that going forward. Chances don't come easy on wickets like this, but we have a young team. Learning one. Hope to improve that."
India and England will play the second Test in Birmingham, beginning on July 2.
