Why Bharti Singh chose to stay in Thailand amid India-Pakistan tensions? Comedian breaks into tears in viral video

Comedian Bharti Singh has faced a wave of online criticism after being spotted in Thailand during the recent escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan, triggered by India’s retaliatory Operation Sindoor. Many social media users accused the television personality of vacationing while the country dealt with national unrest and military conflict.

Amid growing scrutiny, Bharti addressed the backlash in a recent vlog uploaded to her YouTube channel. She clarified that her presence in Bangkok was due to professional commitments made several months ago and not for leisure, as assumed by many. She began the video by assuring viewers that her family, based in Amritsar, was safe and that she had been closely monitoring the situation back home.

Clarifying the Purpose of Her Visit
Bharti emphasized that the trip was pre-planned for a work-related shoot, which had been in preparation for nearly three to four months. She noted that abandoning the project at the last moment would have been unprofessional. In her own words, “I want to clarify to everyone I’m here for work and not for any holiday. We had a shoot for 10 days… A lot of preparation has gone into it, and it is not professional to ditch someone at the last moment.”

Throughout the video, Bharti maintained that her commitment to work was driven by a sense of responsibility and the encouragement of her family, who continued to support her during this emotionally challenging time.

Emotional Impact and Plea to Viewers
Visibly emotional, Bharti expressed how the harsh online comments have taken a toll on her mental well-being. She admitted to feeling distressed and shared that she often ends up crying due to the negativity directed her way. “I do get tense and cry a lot… And the harsh comments do affect me. I can’t just ignore them because you people are a part of my family,” she said.

Reiterating her confidence in the country’s strength and resilience, Bharti stated, “Yes, the city and the country is going through turmoil. But my family is safe… I have full trust in my country and the government… India is a very strong nation aur isse koi hilaa nahi sakta (nothing can shake its spirit).” She also commented on the innocence of some of the criticism she received, saying, “When I read your comments, I don’t get angry. I just feel aap log bahot bhole ho (I sometimes think that you people are very innocent).”

Support From Fans
Despite the negativity, Bharti noted that she stays connected with her family by calling them multiple times a day. She mentioned that it is her family who has encouraged her to keep working through the ongoing tensions, reinforcing the idea that “the show must go on.”

The video has since gone viral, drawing both criticism and support. While some continued to question the timing of her trip, others appreciated her honesty and dedication to her work during a sensitive period. Bharti, who is currently seen on Laughter Chef Season 2, concluded the vlog by urging fans not to panic and to trust the authorities to handle the situation.

Ceasefire Agreement After Operation Sindoor
The online criticism coincided with real-time geopolitical developments, as India and Pakistan reached a ceasefire agreement on May 10 following U.S. intervention. This came after India launched Operation Sindoor in response to the earlier Pahalgam attack.
