Kangana Ranaut is once again speaking her mind, this time taking a sharp aim at Bollywood’s leading men. In a candid chat, the Queen star didn’t hold back, calling many male actors “badtameez” and accusing them of sidelining their heroines. From turning up late to sets to ensuring the female lead gets a smaller vanity van, Kangana claims these petty power plays are all too common in the industry. And she’s never been one to quietly accept it.
In an interview with Hauterrfly, the actress said she consciously chose to work with fewer heroes because she found many of them ill-mannered. According to her, these actors often show up late to shoots, behave rudely, undermine their female co-stars, push them to the sidelines, and even ensure they get smaller vanity vans. She added that her refusal to accept such treatment created trouble for her, leading to multiple cases being filed against her, while most other actresses preferred to remain silent.
About Kangana Ranaut's movies
Kangana’s journey in Bollywood began in 2006 with Anurag Basu’s Gangster, produced by Mahesh Bhatt. She soon followed it up with Woh Lamhe and Life In A Metro, before delivering powerful performances in films like Fashion, Queen, and the Tanu Weds Manu series. Over the years, she has won more than three National Awards, carving a niche for herself as one of the industry’s most fearless and outspoken stars.
Her most recent release was Emergency, a historical biographical drama that she directed and co-produced, in which she played former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film, based on the events of the Indian Emergency, began filming in July 2022 and wrapped in January 2023. After a delay due to CBFC clearance, it was finally released on January 17, 2025, but received mixed-to-negative reviews and failed to make an impact at the box office.
