Joao Felix is on the verge of completing a permanent move away from Chelsea as the 25-year-old attacker ends his nightmare return to Stamford Bridge.
There was plenty of excitement when the Portugal international completed a return to SW6 less than 12 months ago, but his game time was severely limited in the first half of the season. Felix featured 20 times for Enzo Maresca in all competitions, but only nine of them were from the start - and just three of them came in the Premier League.
Felix failed to impress at AC Milan and found himself at a crossroads this summer. A return to Benfica looked on the cards for the Portuguese attacker, but Al-Nassr have since hijacked a move. The Saudi Pro League club have agreed a deal with Chelsea, who are set to receive a €50million (£43.7million) total package for Felix, although that fee is reported to be split to €30million (£26.221million) up front and €20million (£17.481million) in potential add-ons.

The £26million fee will bring the Blues' summer sales total to over £130million following the departures of Noni Madueke, Djordje Petrovic, Mathis Amougou, Bashir Humphreys, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Marcus Bettinelli in recent weeks. That total is set to increase massively before the end of the summer window with the club still working on plenty of outgoings.
They will be hoping the total can go well over £200million, with the likes of Christopher Nkunku, Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell, Armando Broja, Axel Disasi, Renato Veiga and Lesley Ugochukwu all allowed to leave Chelsea should they receive suitable offers.
Elsewhere, Chelsea have spent around £135million on the likes of Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens and Liam Delap (not including add-ons) this summer. In total, with all of those players signed on pre-contract agreements, the Blues' spending is around £228million altogether, with the likes of Estevao Willian, Mike Penders, Dario Essugo, Mamadou Sarr and Kendry Paez all moving to west London too.
That figure will be well over £300million should Chelsea complete the signings of Xavi Simons and Jorrel Hato. The Blues are in club-to-club talks for both of the Dutchmen with RB Leipzig and Ajax, respectively, with negotiations set to intensify now a deal for Felix to leave has been agreed.
Chelsea and Simons have a broad agreement over personal terms, football.london understands, though there is no deal in place between the two clubs just yet. However, sources confirmed over the weekend that talks were advancing and progressing well between the Blues and the Bundesliga club.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are talking with Ajax over the signing of Hato. Like with the Simons deal, personal terms are not an issue with the 19-year-old defender making it clear to Ajax he wishes to leave and move to Stamford Bridge. Talks with the Dutch club are advancing and there is a confidence a deal can be struck.
Chelsea will be hopeful this coming week brings progress with both because in an ideal world, Maresca would like both of them joining up with their new teammates for the start of pre-season training on August 4. football.london understands those that represented the Blues at the FIFA Club World Cup will return on the aforementioned date as preparation for the new season really gets underway.
