Chelsea have announced the signing of Joao Pedro on an eight-year contract. The Brazilian will join up with Enzo Maresca's side at the Club World Cup having had his medical in America earlier this week.
Pedro arrives as a versatile attacking option able to play on the left wing, up front, or as a No.10. The deal is expected to cost around £55million with possible add-ons taking it towards £60million.
He has played four years in the Premier League at Brighton and previously Watford, scoring 22 times in 89 games. Nine of those have come from penalties but he also recorded 10 assists and has started 57 matches, averaging out at a goal every three games.

Unlike Jamie Gittens, who Chelsea are still yet to confirm will be joining from Borussia Dortmund but a move is all but completed,Pedro will be able to play at the Club World Cup. He could make his debut this Saturday as Chelsea face Brazilian side Palmeiras in the quarter-finals.
Pedro had interest from Newcastle United over the summer but has chosen Stamford Bridge as his next home. He can be registered in Chelsea's Premier League squad later this year as a homegrown player due to his time at Watford before turning 21.
Chelsea have already integrated Liam Delap into their senior group whilst Dario Essugo and Mamadou Sarr also joined up with Maresca after agreeing to join from Sporting CP (via a loan at Las Palmas) and RC Strasbourg respectively earlier this year. Andrey Santos and Mike Penders are also in the States with the squad.
