Arsenal supporters will be eager for Benjamin Sesko to replicate the impact he left on his RB Leipzig team-mates if he moved to north London this summer. That's after he earned a glowing endorsement from one of his team-mates almost instantly after joining his current club.
The towering 6'5" striker made headlines when he joined RB Leipzig in a £20million deal in 2023. Still just 22, Sesko had already made waves with Red Bull Salzburg and Liefering in Austria's top division before making his big-league debut two years ago.
Ridle Baku moved to Leipzig from Wolfsburg in January 2025 and was quick to sing the young forward's praises. And the Germany international revealed to FourFourTwo (via The Mirror) how impressed he was with Sesko from their very first training session together.

"Our striker Sesko, I was really impressed, to be honest," he said earlier this year. "The first training session, I knew already that he's a good player. But I'm speaking about potential, probably he's not [currently at] potential he could be, but right now, what I saw already, very impressive. He has everything to be a world-class player."
Arsenal are banking on Baku's assessment being accurate as they eye a move for the promising striker. However, reports suggest the deal could fall through due to Sesko and his team's high wage demands.
Physically, the Slovenian is everything a manager might want in a centre forward. His impressive frame is complemented by a surprising burst of speed for a man his stature, drawing parallels to a certain Nordic striker at Manchester City.
It has been seven years since Arsenal snapped up a player from the Bundesliga, with Bernd Leno and Sokratis each joining in the summer of 2018. But it seems they are poised to break that streak, provided they can agree on a fee with Leipzig, who are reportedly holding out for as much as £85m.
Baku isn't the only team-mate who has lauded Sesko during his time in Germany. Yussuf Poulsen, a veteran of Leipzig's journey from the depths of German football, has previously branded Sesko as "the best" strike partner he has played alongside.

"The best I've played with," he told TNT Sports last year. "If you look at his abilities, he has everything a top number nine needs. He's still young, he still needs to learn, not the technical things about being a striker but maybe more the finesse side.
"He has everything, strength shooting, technique, everything. I like working with him and I'm trying to get him there - he'll go on and score a lot of goals for us and some point go to the club he'll love to play for."
The Radece-born sensation is exactly the type of player Arsenal have traditionally targeted under Mikel Arteta's tenure. The club's former sporting director, Edu, once highlighted the issue with signing older players with limited resale value, which was "killing" the club, and prompted a shift towards younger, more ambitious talent.

At 22, Sesko is not yet the complete package, but his record of 39 goals and eight assists in 87 appearances for Leipzig shows he has plenty to offer. The emerging talent converted a personal best of 21 goals across all competitions this term and enjoyed a run of scoring in five consecutive league matches during the winter.
He also scored twice in as many outings against Bayern Munich, demonstrating his ability to stand up to top-tier defences. And that will only reinforce Arsenal's view that he can be the man to make the much-needed difference as the tip of their spear.
Arteta has a knack for nurturing young prospects at Arsenal, with Bukayo Saka, William Saliba and Myles Lewis-Skelly being prime examples. There's every reason to believe Sesko could be the next success story at the Emirates if Arsenal decide to spend big and secure his services this summer.
